Human Beings Creating A Difference

Joe Madison

JOE MADISON

The 'Black Eagle' is never down when spreading its wings across the sky creating shade to protect the unprotected from a blazon wrath of penetrating heat of the raging sun. The greatest legacy of every man is known by the impact made upon the lives of his fellow Human Beings. There are many voices heard in the orchestra of symphonic sounds for brotherhood, peace, love and Human kindness to prevail in celebration of life. As we continue to lift every voice and sing till earth and heaven rings true as One voice, not Two!... we will have to keep movin' until we move on in...into the highest vibration possible. It is a joy to see how mysterious things unfold in creation. "No man is an Island, No man stands alone, Each man is my Brother, Each man is my Friend..." and so it is with Mr. Madison's contributions to the consciousness of Humanity.

Human and Civil Rights Activist, Radio and Television Talk Show Personality, Political Organizer, Columnist, Lecturer; Labor and Corporate spokesman, former Musician, and Athlete. You can't pigeonhole the "Black Eagle". He is so renowned by his early morning radio audience he is known only by one name "Madison the Black Eagle". Thousands wake up in the nation's capitol listening to "Mornings with Madison & Company" on WOL- AM (Radio One, Inc. station). He has been featured on BBC radio stations as a political commentator and has written a nationally syndicated column which appeared in over 210 African-American newspapers.

In this excerpt from Joe's web site, we can see his compassion for Humankind, "You are not Generation X as the media has labeled you, but you are 'Generation Extraordinary' and extraordinary things are expected of you.Ý ....you might not be able to remember the wealthiest people in the world, the Heisman Trophy winners or the Academy Award recipients for best actor or a motion picture. None of us remember the headliners of yesterday, because applause dies, awards tarnish, achievements are forgotten, accolades and certificates are buried with their owners. But you will remember the teachers who opened your mind to the world, friends who helped you through difficult times, people who made you feel special and appreciated. Why, because the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards...they are the people who care the most. ....if you don't remember anything else, always remember this, 'the world gets out of the way of a people who know where they are going.'"- From the title speech: "The Need for Social Capital in the 21st Century."

CCPI appreciates the 'Black Eagle' flying through the light of day as we sense the night on the way. There is so must good here, can't we see the goodness God has given us? We are the multiple colors of a single rainbow reflecting energy across the sky. It is wonderful to experience the strength of the 'Black Eagle' creating the arc on the fly. What a beautiful sight to behold! BRAVO, JOE, BRAVO!

PAM SUKHUM

We are celebrating 'Where is Pam,' now that we have found her. She is a delightful treat! Ms. Sukhum has impacted us with her evolutionary work. The depths and heights of emotional intensity is felt as it exudes from the canvas visually. The intricate as well as intimate images conveyed are captivating throughout her ArtWorks with a revitalizing quality which invites, invigorates and creates the heart beat of soul. The universal themes of the Human condition surges forth to inspire the movement, dance, music and fire to ride the tidal waves of time and space.

Dreaming 2

Pam Sukhum states, "I have felt blessed with a passion for creating things and for having found what I love to do. Over time, I have developed a greater sense of gratitude for having had an opportunity to explore and create. As this gratitude has grown so has my desire to GIVE BACK. It makes the process for me, whole...a recycling of good energy of sorts...As such we've begun making trips to different places to offer gifts and time and a pair of hands, when needed."

Heads Stacked

What better demonstration of an Artist then to share in the Human experience. We are not alone. Wherever we are, there is so much to give to one another without selfish motivation, but dynamic revelation in expression! Everything we receive we are charged to give back as the Great Art Works!

Congratulations to Pam Sukhum, we have found you as a shinning light amongst the stars, BRAVA, YOU'RE FANTASTIC!

LINK YOURSELF WITH AN UNLIMITED CAPACITY

Your destiny is your own creation. It is because you are the master of your destiny, and you did it, that you can always undo it. When you have the capacity to do something, don't you have the capacity to undo it? So trust in that capacity, and then go forward.

Sincerity in seeking comes only when you know that you have a limited capacity. Then you link yourself with an unlimited capacity. Asking for help also is like that. Only when you say, "I can't do it anymore, please help me," does the help come.

Sometimes God seems to be a hard-hearted person. He waits until you really, really give up. Until then, your prayers are not really sincere. They may be beautiful. You may sing nice songs. You may have a good voice. Your chants may be wonderful, your Indian chants or Gregorian chants. But when you cry, you don't worry about your voice, about the tune, about a pitch. It's simply, "Ohhh, my God, please!" You shout it. Yes. And that is what you call sincere prayer. It should come from the very heart, not from the head. That prayer is heard immediately. So let us become that kind of seeker. Let's be sincere and serious. We should be totally convinced that, "I am nothing. My capacities are very limited. Without that unlimited source I can't do much." It is that energy that makes this body sit here today, and that body sit there. We are all being used by the same energy.

MEDITATION
Let me use the wisdom of my senses
To understand the earth
In this season of preparation.
For as the earth prepares its life forms,
So, too, shall I prepare.
The nature kingdom is my teacher,
And I have much to learn.
I learn of letting go
My grip on yesterday
And free myself for the wonder
Of tomorrow's subtle joy.

THE BLESSING
Fulfillment and completeness
Are gifts I give to me.
They come from focused labor
And perception as my guide.
How well I see the power
That my own acts have on me,
And I create my world of joy
Or a world of misery.
Perfection
Is my natural state;
How easily I forget!

A Kind Word

LITTLE BY LITTLE, THE PEACE WILL COME

Peace is not just in the hands of a few individuals. Every one of us can do something. When there are more peaceful individuals, the world becomes more peaceful. So let it begin within oneself. In one sense, it is almost impossible to make the whole world peaceful. The world is not created that way. It has differences, varieties, though the basis is the same, the spirit is the same. God created everything and everybody differently. We need all kinds of people to make the world drama go well. Even the terrible sinner has a place. We have no right to condemn anyone. But we can set good examples for others to follow.

The world is full of ups and downs, positive and negative. It's like a big factory. Human Beings come in as raw material, and they are in the process of becoming perfect. Look at a Detroit car factory. At one end you see the beautiful finished cars ready to be shipped out, but what do you see at the other end? All crude, raw materials, metal sheets, nuts and bolts, that go through processing. A lot of cutting, chipping, rubbing, scrubbing, chiseling, filing, grinding, welding, pressing. Slowly, it takes shape. People are like that also. That's what you call evolution or growth. Through that we gain experience, we learn. Even a sinner is there to show you what is not to be done. He's an example for you. By seeing him, you realize, "Oh, I shouldn't do that."

So it's really not possible to find the world one hundred percent peaceful at any given moment. But people can individually find peace, and then set examples for others. Little by little, little by little, the peace will come.

LIBERATION DAYS!

TEACHINGS OF THE BUDDHA

Friends, I know nothing which is as intractable as an untamed heart. The untamed heart is indeed intractable.

Friends, I know nothing which is as tractable as a tamed heart. The tamed heart is indeed tractable.

Friends, I know nothing which tends toward loss as does an untamed heart. Indeed, the untamed heart tends toward loss.

Friends, I know nothing which tends toward growth as does a tamed heart. Indeed, the tamed heart tends toward growth.

Friends, I know nothing which brings suffering as does an untamed, uncontrolled, unattended and unrestrained heart. Such a heart brings suffering.

Friends, I know nothing which brings joy as does a tamed, controlled, attended and restrained heart. Such a heart brings joy.

From The CEO

THERE IS JOY DOWN IN THE HEART! THE LOVE RESOUNDING THROUGH LAUGHTER WITHIN THE WORLD OF HUMAN BEINGS IS FREEING THE SPIRIT TO SOAR TO NEW HEIGHTS, TO NEW HORIZONS, REGARDLESS OF THE APPEARANCES OF INSURMOUNTABLE RESISTANCE. WHEN WE COMPLETELY ACCEPT OURSELVES 100%, THEN WE CAN ACCEPT THE REFLECTIONS OF OURSELVES IN EVERYBODY WE MEET.

THE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE OF THE HUMAN CONDITION REQUIRES COMPASSION IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS UNDERSTOOD BY THE CONDITIONS IMPLEMENTED IN THIS ALL TOO FLEETING WORLD. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORLD IT IS WHEN ONE KNOWS HOW TO LOVE AND LIVE IN IT!

WHEN WE DELVE INTO OUR HUMAN PSYCHOLOGY OF COMPULSIVE BEHAVIORS HONESTLY; AND TRULY RISE TO THE OCCASION FOR A HIGHER VIBRATION TO OCCUR, WE WILL NOT REPETITIVELY FALTER INTO THE DEPTHS OF AN ABYSS AS THE FALLING ANGELS OF CREATION. EVERYTHING THAT WE DO IS MERELY AN EXPRESSION OF THE EVOLUTIONARY PROCESS OF NATURE'S UNFOLDMENT AND CANNOT BE HELD ONTO AS PERMENANT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. IT'S JUST HOW IT IS! THIS SOUNDS RATHER BLEAK, DOESN'T IT? HOWEVER, IT ISN'T, WE HAVE LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCE THAT 'WE GET WHAT WE GOT' BECAUSE WE DIDN'T ASK FOR ANYTHING ANY DIFFERENT...SO WE ARE ASKING FOR A GREAT DIFFERENCE IN UNDERSTANDING WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MASTER THIS PROCESS OF LIFE UPON PLANET EARTH HERE AND NOW. THE ANSWER RINGS TRUE THAT WE ALREADY KNOW, SO LETS GO...!

CCPI is extremely happy to present these mesmerizing 'Tondo Oil Painting ArtWorks' as well as a Q&A interveiw with the Artist. We are very blessed to attract and provide a unique base of creative Human Beings from various (venues and mediums) to share with the world at large. Karen's Artists Eye is an essential and integral point of focus for the whole of Humanity's evoluntionary process through continued growth, cultivation and development. The truth is the undercurrent which motivates the expressions of any individual who lives life within form whether oblong or spherical. It accumulates and inspires the elongation of time in one dimension of infinite space.

Where is the point? It is here, right here where we are in the circle, oval, portal, eye and/or center of this unified field of energy. The visual Artist, Karen Fitzgerald has accentuated and captivated the essence of the sublime cosmic dance of life energy manifestating the phenomenon of form. The firmament of creation brings forth all of the component parts composing the celestial Being Human.

Without further adieu, here is a direct transmission of thought by ARTIST: KAREN FITZGERALD...

Q: Where are you taking us today in your ArtWorks?

A: My work is a reflection of my belief that when someone experiences beauty, they are having a spiritual experience. I believe experiencing beauty expands our awareness, uniting sensual, emotional, intellectual and psychic perceptions. When we experience beauty, we encounter a shift in our consciousness and the potential to link with other layers and levels of consciousness is ripe. I hope that when someone sees my work, they have an experience that puts them in this realm.

Q: How do you compose your concepts, ideas, theories, timeframes, etc in producing your creative pieces of work ?

A: Compose has a double meaning in my work. In a first step, I connect with an idea - sometimes it is as unformed as a feeling, sometimes it is as specific as a phrase from a poem that gives me a clear idea. In a second step, I work with this idea until it finds a form. Sometimes this involves creating a series of monotypes. Sometimes it is simply starting with a blank canvas and putting down washes until the feeling I'm looking for coalesces. Other times, composing is a responsive process that involves work I have been completing, as in a series. Most recently, I completed a series of 18 paintings in a collaboration with composer Carl MaultsBy. We worked with the text from the Gospel/Spiritual, "His Eye is on the Sparrow" as well as text that high school students created responding to this Spiritual. Early in the series, I knew I wanted to play with the structure of the actual eye of a sparrow, and patterning from micro- to macro- phenomena. A bullseye form developed, which I used in many various configurations. I like the idea that in Jazz music, a melodic or rhythmic theme is "composed" and then during performance all sorts of interwoven strands are improvised from this basic theme. This basic paradigm of improvising occurs frequently in my work. Themes from one series often rise up in subsequent work.

Q: What specific statements or consistent themes do you focus upon, convey or reveal that reoccur in your ArtWorks and why?

A: My work has grown up through the Eastern and Western landscape tradition. This tradition includes territory that is about a singular response to the natural world. Yet my work also pushes beyond simple "response to..." Through the language of abstraction, I push my work into metaphysical terrain. What the world looks like and feels like can be oppositional. I'm working to develop a new language that includes the consciousness of this world - it's animals, plants, rocks, sky. Fire, Air, Water, Earth - these 4 have a tradition in many spiritual cultures. The dynamics of interconnection are at the core of my work. To some, my "landscapes" might just be simple depictions of the natural world, with a luminous tendency. To others, they are mirrors that can be looked through to glimpse new realities.

Q: What inspired you to take an interest in the medium of Visual Arts, and who specifically encouraged you to pursue this medium?

A: I grew up in the Garden of Eden: a dairy farm in central Wisconsin. I was always outside, in the fields or woods. From a very early age I felt a great attachment to the natural world. My mother encouraged me to communicate about it. Several key teachers in high school also supported my leanings in the direction of visual arts. I was the first person from my family to go away to college. All along the way I found people who helped me. I am very grateful to each of them: M.McN; M.O'C; L.N.; E.W.; G.F.

Q: To what extent does the culture in which you live, influence, impact and invoke you to express the depth of your experiences, insights through colors and forms of such brilliance, buoyancy, vigor and dynamics shown in your existing ArtWorks?

A: Nature is everywhere. Even in a small patch of garden at the end of a sidewalk. When I was completing my undergraduate studies, I had a long discussion with a key instructor. He had asked me to articulate my ideas around my artwork. I said it was very challenging to live as a Greek in a Roman world. I still believe that. Now, the line between ancient Greek artwork and Roman artwork that followed is blurred, or not visible. But Greek culture was based in a poetic understanding of the world and that deeply impacted the kind of work they created. The Roman culture plundererd the Greek, and overtook it. But the work the Romans produced was not endowed with a poetic understanding of the world. I don't think much has changed. But I am glad of new voices, and the gradual strength with which they present themselves in our current culture. Many of the alternative voices have this same basic view of the world, a poetic understanding of it.

Q: An Artist is a visionary in many ways. When reaching beyond the boundaries of many creative expressions produced within the cycles of time in an infinitely changing world, how has your vision expanded, changed and/or assisted in the evolution of conscious awakening for humanity through your art?

A: My vision is about interconnectivity. It is about the level of consciousness that interweaves everything. Just as physical light suffuses the world, so does spiritual light, or the light of consciousness. There is a lot of work occurring in the world around this area right now. New connections are being made. My work supports new understandings about what and how our consciousness exists. I feel this is an issue of subtlty. Most work that gains attention these days is not subtle. It is fairly loud. Yet real change often does not occur in a loud, splashy way. Sometimes, especially in a singular sense, change happens quietly, gradually, through subtle influence.

Q: As Artist imparting your vision into the world you become a keynote speaker through your ArtWorks, a voice for generations to hear, learn, grow and develop greater insight into the Human existence. How would you handle on a large scale the task of changing the direction of our Human civilization, if indeed this where to happen to you at this point of your Art Career?

A: I doubt that one, singular person can handle the task of changing human direction. We are...and that is the crux. I am part of the we. There are still people in the world who daily, do not have enough to eat. The sad fact is that my work would probably not take care of this problem. Just as cells all exist in the interconnected realm of physicality, so do "we" in our civilization. Cells communicate constantly with their neighbors. When they stop communicating, cancer forms and grows. This seems to be a useful analogy for change within our civilization. But it is probably an abstract, indirect process. This will be fun to think about. What would I do if I had this capability, this "stage" to act on?

One of the essential features of a farming community is that it is a localized collective. I think about my work and my life in this very localized manner. My neighborhood is not China. It is Hobart Street in Woodside, Queens. I create projects and teach in my community. I act locally. I suppose my work will always act locally. That is not a bad thing. Bigger is not always better.

Q: How do you establish your connection with the motifs that emerges from within the blank space of the canvas?

A: Connection is a very powerful phenomenon for me. Once I am on the path going toward that, I relax and let it happen. Getting on the path has everything to do with balance and concentration. It is a little like trying to see something in focus using only your peripheral vision. If you try too hard, the focus gets worse.

Following or finding connection comes through the visual language: nuance of color, light, edge, form, shade, luminosity -- all these things have feeling embedded in them. I trust the process of making the work enough to simply follow these things - the feeling is always what leads the way.

Some time ago I developed a way of working that involves chance. It is just enough to put my considerable will out of reach within the process of making an image. I use paint that is thinned and runny - adding it to pools on the surface of the picture. These washes are like a watercolor wash, but done in oil paint. They are very hard to control, and each one is a new experience. I combine this wash process with a dryer glazing process that can be very controlled.

Q: Who are primary Master Artist that you consider to have influenced your style, approach, intelligence and acute senses regarding the intricacies of artistic creativity and in what ways?

A: Several writers have been crucial to my artistic growth, and continue to nurture me: Mary Oliver, Wiswalwa Symborska, Czeslaw Milosz, Seamus Heaney. Visual artists that influenced me early on include: Mark Rothko and Georgia O'Keefe.

Q: What is your most difficult challenge as an Artist/Painter/Human Being?

A: Financial solvency. When you are in the world blessed with things other than money, there is always a challenge to balance time and money. Like matter and energy in the Einsteinian world, in my world time and money are interchangeable. I teach to meet my financial responsibilities when work is not selling. Lately it has become much more challenging; for the first time in years I am having to find a full time job. Artists frequently live hand-to-mouth - our culture devalues artistic capacity and contributions. Unless you are lucky enough to find key supporters early on, you risk obscurity and uncertainty, even having to discontinue your work in order to pay bills. I am learning to see this as other than a "BAD" thing. But that is also challenging when you feel the demoralization of having to borrow money yet again to pay an everyday bill.

Q: What distinguishes your ArtWorks from other Artists currently living or dead?

A: On a physical level, my works are round. Many artists have created tondo works, but very few work in this format exclusively. Outside of commissions, I have not created a rectangular work for over 13 years. During this time, my work has become increasingly concerned with the spiritual nature of the world. This is on the opposite pole from much contemporary work which is political in nature, or concerned with the personal politics of the body.

Q: What bit of wisdom have you learned in the process of achieving your creative goals and artistic endeavors?

A: There are very few shortcuts to creating authentic work. What you think, believe in, value and feel passionate about - your VISION - is what you must be true to. This is what makes the choices for you. Articulating your vision takes time. There is no fast maturing in the visual world. Some of these things are at odds within our marketing/consuming culture. As an artist you have to be willing to be at odds with the mainstream.

THE LIFE OF A MAVERICK!

MARK C. KENNEDY

SOCIOLOGIST, EMERITUS PROFESSOR
THE AMERICAN UNIVERESITY IN CAIRO, RET.

One may be retired from the grueling design of daily occupation but one is not retired from life's work, even when the confines of society's systematic constructions/operation turns one out to pasture after loyal and devoted service over any number of years especially sixty-five years of laborious cultivation of one's genius. Retire, Pack-up and go home... to die! Unless, one is courageous, determined and invigorated to merely find another field to graze during the golden years of life's continumm... for the best is to BE! There are truly very few men who have accrued knowledge and transformed it into wisdom through self-mastery over the age of sixty-five amongst the Human population, but they do exist! Look to the elders of the Human species and discover the untapped volts of gold, wells of insight, knowledge, resources of wisdom boxed away in the attics of their minds. While the youthful lot rushes about as they once did, doing foolish things until they become elders of the day! The addage "If I Knew Then What I Know Now"...What? That is the point, I know now, what I knew then but didn't know that I knew it! Because I wasn't paying attention!

Everyman is unique unto himself during the potential maturation of a lifetime, given a special charge to perform great wonders, big or small in the miraculous sojourn upon life's paths through constant investigation and discovery of the use of creative power, the energy of life. Such is one, Mark C. Kennedy, a man who would be King, yet forfeits all notions to claim such a disposition in the service of a greater purpose. Mr. Kennedy, like so many brethren of this world appears to have sort the utmost highest of Human nature to produce a worth, value and clarity of the conscious awareness of the spiritual being through his efforts as a economical, social, political scholar, professor, author and world citizen of Humanity. He is a living testimony of the powers orchestrating life manifestations in this illusion of reality. The joy of meeting the personification of a magnitude of this caliber is rare, like finding a needle in a haystack. We would have to acknowledge that Mark C. Kennedy, exempifies the natural spirit of one who does with one's gifts what is essential during life's process that produces an exhilarating, challenging and exciting life.

The fact that no man can do the work of another on the path traveled is prevalent to understanding the interweaving patterns of this universal domain. The interest regarding dilemmas of the ruling classes in the Arab World; The uprecedented changes in Western and Third World societies since WorldWar II, involving the globalization of national political economies, the new global network of corporte power, and the transformation of national political economies via debt and semi-imposed structural adjustments; The banking community and the transformation of command political economies: the role of banks in structural transformation of nations; On going local lectures and discussion for various church memberships to countervail growing negative attitudes toward Muslims, etc.

Every Human Being is an integral part of the evolutionary expressionism of life energy and must come to grasp the true purpose for the wholeness of creation to flourish, expand and combustulate infinitely. The simple and complex measures of being a man propels one to go where no man has gone before which indicates that we come this way but once and there isn't any going back, so why is it that everything appears to be the same, yet different within the realms of Human evolution regardless of how many Masks of a Hero's face emerge to remind us of who we are and what we are doing here on this planet earth. When spending time in retrospective projections with Mark, it is wonderful to share the ongoing unfoldment and exploration/expressions of unity through all things, and the glimpses of the eternal that extend into the realm of appearance in time and space - as the breath of the Divine. The delight of seeing the concurrent and instantaneous emerges into form as cycles of perspective that illuminate the moment. The multiplicity of perspectives all share in and are necessary to the illumination. It is in this present moment that we experience the joyous laughter through the tears of sadness at the absurdities of mankind's chosen intellectual elite deliberately stumbling in the light of day with superficial gestures that impede the progress of a species living in constant desperation to end this universal suffering. It doesn't take a Nobel Prize for any man to know the stratagems in play are working against all manner of justice, liberty and freedom for the whole of Humanity. We are here, right where we are, to dismantle this facade and get on with the experiencing of the kingdom of god already spread upon this earth. It is imperative not to deny duality, but to transcend it by using the gifts of intelligence. Mark C. Kennedy, now graced to be 80+ speaks out to this call for Human awareness to move beyond ideology, concepts and dogma into actualization. The summit of economical, social and political issues like the walls of Jericho are tumbling down. The twin towers of egotistical world dominance have fallen and we cannot go back! Poverty is a hypnotism, a state of mind that perpetuates greed throughout the courts filled with idle thinkers to amuse the world with its deceptive nature in the service of Humanity.

"For every idle person, there is another person who works too much. For every person who eats to excess, there is another person somewhere who is hungry.

Much of the activity of idle people who pretend that they are busy with work is merely entertaining; it just adds a burden to other people. This can be said of all luxuriant entertainments. "-Leo Tolstoy

What further crimes against Humanity do we have to commit/endure before we turn off the misguided and misused idiot box of multimedia persuasions that glorify mediocre as the ordained way of salvation. We have the statistics, data and reports to substantiate the overwhelming movement of calculating individuals throughout history to rule over other men, to enslave, punish and destroy their free will to life. Like locust devour the fields of harvest, then turn and rend themselves when all is gone, we are reminded in the writings of Mr. Kennedy and so many others liken unto his intent and purpose to arouse the awakened state of the lethargic mass to the true state of the union, that we are in big trouble! Yes, to be a rebel without a cause empowers the maverick with a purpose. The man who doesn't give himself over to the duality of life, but encompasses its true meaninglessness in creating the meaning of universal loving-kindness and compassion for all there is, definitely sacrifices his little strand of ego-self in the cosmic fabric to the greatest ego of all, "LIFE!"

Life is the ultimate. It allows everything to exist within its framework. It's conceptual manifestations for a brief time only. The Human species must stop failing to extract what is essential in this vast creative process of evolution.

THE LOYAL CITIZEN OF SOME MODERN STATES
Some Questions For All Of Us
Mark C. Kennedy, Ph. D.

Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fever, for patriotism is indeed a double edged sword. It emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. I am Caesar.
Attributed to Julius Caesar

What is a citizen? What is 'loyalty'? In the armies of ancient Rome, loyalty meant obedience to verbal commands, written orders and laws. This is so within chains of command of armies everywhere. Thus 'citizenship' meant faithful followers of the head of state and his subordinates. In the laws of ancient Islam, 'disloyalty' was defined by example, namely, a soldier fleeing south when his cohorts were under orders to march north. Loyalty meant the abnegation of one's own will in the unquestioning faith of the leader, the head of state. The same was true for Caesar. To be 'free' and to be loyal meant one and the same things.

During the French Revolution, for example, freedom, i.e., liberte, came to mean independence, self determination, or freedom from authority. In the collapse of Europe's feudal institutions of Europe, fealty, as historian Marc Bloch put it, was for sale. Blind obedience was abandoned, as national self-determination in the early institutions of capitalism, had begun. The same was so in the American Revolution of 1776.

In Germanic history, however, freedom, or freiheit, said the 19th century German philosopher, Johann Gottlieb Fichte, meant something else. He taught that one is free to act on one's own in all matters apart from what the State demands. The State he said was the supreme manifestation of kultur ‚ the norms or laws which evolved in the life of all German speaking peoples. Fichte went further to say, "To be right and to be German necessarily mean the same things." Hitler once erected a statue to commemorate Fichte in Berlin. The difference between liberte and freiheit are graphic. Of course not all German philosophers in the time of Fichte agreed with Fichte. Goethe, remarked the according to Fichte's kind of nation, we would have no bed on which to lie, and no chair on which to sit.

In the Germanic and other cultures of the Middle Ages Freiheit was verbalized in ritualized oaths of one's loyalty to another. In Wagnerian operas, this loyalty was expressed as treue, meaning faithfulness unto death and even beond the grave. Even friendsip, and even marriages were quite meaningless without without similar oaths. Which would you want to be typical of your world, Freiheit, or, liberte ?

I write this small paper to ask those who read it these questions: which concept of citizenship, and which concept of freedom and loyal citizen do you believe best expresses the United States today under the administration of George W. Bush? I think of Nathan Hale, Thomas Jefferson, and Thomas Paine versus, say, George III of England. Were not these founding fathers, 'unpatriotic' in the mind of the King George of England? Have we not been stripped of the freedom, as well as the democracy with which our great country began? Can we still say, "my country" with the same meaning it had for, say, Nathan Hale? Think about it, and give voice to what you truly believe. Which kind of loyal citizen do you want to be?

In friendship, Mark C. Kennedy

There we have it! The exploration of life's Human condition proceeds a pace. We have to study to grasp an understanding of the motivation behind the actions taken to subdue, seduce and control the natural freedom to be expressed as a universal specie of creation. Mark C. Kennedy is a character of interest, a catalyst for the awakening of Human awareness through the use of intelligence to the nth degree.

FADING GHOSTS

Whispers within
Heard the child,
Though unspoken by adults
Shadow aspects formed
Barriers to protect
The silent pain.
Haunting's
Psychological ghosts
Color relationships
Until unmasked
To dissipate into oblivion
As illusions fade.
The stage expansion
To fill the house
Spheres passing through
As cells of being relate through
The performance encompassing
The artist exposed.

"Everyone has a great task to do. When we finish this task, we shall be different from what we appear to be and what we have been" - Dhiravamsa. We know we are constantly changing within the realms of multidimensional realities, manifesting the best experiences attainable moment to moment. After all everything is perfection in the imperfection of trials and tribulations of life unfolding as we get wiser and stronger constantly. The challenge in the complexity of life is to remain simple. This way of living has truly brought tremendous joy into this created reality. It is always in the flexibility of the moment in which we live the fullness of being alive, intentioned, purposeful, happy and free that Human perceptions broaden and encompass new visions. When we are consciously aware and receptive, knowledgeable of it or not, it inspires us to move forward in profound confidence. Life and Death, Death and Life, its all the same!

What most people call life are the things manifested as experiences and/or memories but not necessarily life itself. The essence of energy vibrating ripples of contrasting rhythms and motions into and out of finite existence formulating objects and subjects of matter continuously are caught in the time's warp of vicious cycles clasping onto chronological and psychological frameworks creating intricate illusions of the BOND-AGE.

"We all experience life in different ways, painfully or pleasurably, but if we can learn from these experiences we shall understand how to live without difficulty. We have to see the two poles of life and look at them both - not just seeing one side of life. Otherwise one can go to extremes and become blind to other viewpoints. We have to see benefits and dangers, "good" and "bad" sides, and the very seeing of both sides can bring about harmony and balance. Without seeing, there will be attachment or aversion or boredom (positive, negative, or the indifference of apathy), but if your awareness can encompass both poles of life you will not miss the point. What is the point? It is pointless, without fixed idea. The point is balance, wholeness. The point of life is to see and understand it as it is. Life, according to ideas and knowledge, may be something abstract. We try to give it definition, and therefore limit it, but it has no limitation because it represents the whole. In our limitation of it, we try to develop its parts to make a whole." - Dhiravamsa

So once again, where do we begin? Where else...but at the beginning...here and now! Everyone has to be, do and have what everyone has to be, do and have in life. What revelations, what delightful surprises, when we allow such wonderful qualities of Being Human to emerge with the anomalies of existence, we forgive everybody, everything, including ourselves all the time. Hurricane "Isabel" manifested, came and went through the eastern region as one of infinite reminders of how transformative, precious and fleeting created time truly is here upon planet earth. The whole point of fully 'LIVING IN THE PRESENT' moment to moment, free from the past and the future concepts of permanency enables and/or provides opportunities for every Human Being to spontaneously let go, forgive, forget and LIVE! LIVE! LIVE!

We are absorbed in expanding the capacity to master every nuance of creating an effective, efficient, productive life reality. We are determined to fulfill the vision as Beings of truth, honesty, character and integrity unto the completion of created time upon this earth. As we continue to share all the possibilities towards a successful outlook on life that we can share with whomever comes into our lives by the Grace of 'ALL THAT IS', we have enjoyed the blessings bestowed upon us out of shear excitement for consciousness awakening. Just looking through the portals of thought as we continue to share perspectives, observations and determinations accrued while living in this world of Humankind is a privilege. CIVILIZATION IS ANOTHER CONCEPT AND LIKE ALL CONCEPTS it takes itself very seriously when it senses it isn't getting its just due and yet neglects the seriousness of which it perpetuates problems inflicted upon all it's inhabitants even as we continue to Let Go, Let God and Let Live!

'In this kind of living, we need not only attention but awareness and watchfulness. When exercising attention we often appear silent and still. How does this differ from stagnation, or a kind of death? It is different because we are closing the doors of only the superficial mind, while leaving open the doors of intuitive insight, which flows through, showing us the truth of what we are attending to. Stagnation occurs when these doors are closed, blocking all the levels of the mind instead of allowing them to flow on more and more profoundly to extinction. When we are totally attentive, our consciousness becomes more extensive, giving us a wider, deeper, and purer vision because the ignorance and stupidity of the conditioned mind do not intervene. Only then can the intuitive insight flow, and we come into close contact with it. This is why we must ask ourselves whether we are satisfied with intellectual understanding and intellectual levels of existence. This does not imply a rejection of the intellect, which is indispensable when dealing with factual aspects of life. But it is not dynamic, it cannot lead us to realization, peace and total understanding.'

The Artists in the world are the great silent majority! Barking loud and clearly through veils of ignorance to be heard once and for all by Humankind to stop, look and listen to the voice within...We are here! We are now! The continued distractions created out of '...mankind's engagements with perpetual chaos and confusion through time and space in the pretense of 'Saving the Children, Saving the World, Saving the Planet' are attractions for the circus crowd that we can observe and transform into the great awareness of Human consciousness of what we are doing! We know who we are, what we are, where we are, when we are and how we come to BE! The question is WHY? The Artist demonstrates the possibilities through dynamic manifestations designed to cast out all delusions regarding this phenomenal existence. We have begun to deny the Human Being. Every generation maturates into existence the genius of the evolutionary processes of life's unfoldment upon this infinite sojourn to celebrate the Human, otherwise we would not be copulating, propagating, reincarnating constantly in various ways, shapes and forms to be what we have evolved into today.

We do know that we are not being clear in relationships. We do know when we are not being honest in communications. And we do know why we suffer the little child within to come unto the Divine of the inner Being. It shows up everywhere in everything and pierces through as the radiant light and love energy as life feeding life! We are the mask of dual personality within this universe which inspires the creative surge to be, do and have all that is! There isn't any omission that life energy flows through everything in continuous transformation, as a wise man is a Human Being who can see with perfect insight the rise and fall of all things, both physical and mental, and the satisfaction in, the misery of and the liberation from them.

The Artists listens to the wise whispers of the melodious universal sounds of music bringing tears to the eyes overflowing with joy and compassion to be alive as a spiritual Being passing through a dying world of a suffering reality of illusions. Artist therefore are not accumulating, not working with desire, wanting more experience or advancement. The understanding of the rise and fall of anything we come across, together with their outcome, leads to insight into the truth. "Art is the transmission of states of Being." - Alex Grey, thus, within the arts, sacred or secular, the goal is to produce an emotional impact upon the audience. The work, whether visual, musical, dramatic or literary finds its ability to remove the viewer from his ordinary mode of perception to a higher degree of aesthetic or spiritual experience.

Mankind's learned, programmed psychological, physical, emotional complexities and conflicts associated, connected with finite goals, achievements, accomplishments, status, possessions, positions, wealth, health, power, etc., are astounding. The pressures applied, evoked by greed to produce something, anything, to be accepted as somebody significant, important, reputable, viable, etc., according to the rule of society constitutes false realities of the most dangerous kind. Deception! Deception! Deception! The annihilation of one's soul to become materially magnificent and miraculous must be resisted vigorously. When personal egocentric approaches for the destructiveness of the Human spirit/species and it's environment are implemented, we cringe in disbelief. Haven't we done enough throughout Human history to make harmonious changes necessary today? Apparently, we have not because the forces at play are in full swing, persisting in ignorance about life and who has a right to it's gifts and treasures.

"What is harmony? How are things of opposite types harmonized by a higher principle? To harmonize things on one particular plane through the energy of higher planes, it is necessary to harmonize thesis and antithesis in a synthesis: the possibility of opposition, and then to do away with the opposition. Whatever exists must have its 'anti', or natural opposite. Whatever statement anyone makes, its opposite is possible. Hegel says that to harmonize these contradictions is the process of our progress. In this process, an ever greater conception of harmony is necessary. The highest type of harmony is one in which diversity exists. Thus, opposition helps humanity to not only become harmonized but it enhances the beauty of this harmony...beauty and harmony are the same thing. In this way opposition ultimately enhances beauty. If there were no diversity then beauty would not be possible." -Darshan, sweet sounds of surrender, devotional music performed by Rasa

This affirmative commands that the Artist must absorb everything possible and transform these things into the pattern of equilibrium and balance for Humanity's conscious awareness to embrace its 'Freedom'. Yes, the spindle top turns and we are dizzy with sorting out the friction which sparks fire within space and time. The hereditary compass of Humanity divulges a consistency in the struggle for survival or shall we say the struggle beyond survival as the wheel rotates around the hub contained as its axis supporting the circle of life. The place where diversity stresses the tension in the straw that breaks the camels back is the open eye to see the superimposed universal beast of burden.

We cherish the glorious days of this bittersweet sojourn, knowing that all is temporal by nature's design which removes, eliminates, and dissolves everything experienced into its natural state from whence all things come. The Artist must understand the farewells of life in order to transmit a point of clarity for others to grasp, incorporate and follow without the assumption that somebody is trying to tell somebody something that they don't want to hear or do not already know. So we must by example resist nothing except arrogance which can produce the superior knowledge of a class of buffoons incognito.

When viewing thousands upon thousands of ArtWorks created from around the world since the beginning of protoplasm, it is evident that Art doesn't agree or disagree. It is an expression of universal creativity itself. The Human mythology revealing the never-ending story of essence is expressed through Art, and Artist are to be encouraged to transmit, translate and deliver to the populace the greatest calling of the highest pulses experienced by Human Beings.

We no longer are just subjected to delusions, to discouragement, to not think independently or collectively about anything and therefore copy, clone, imitate, cling, etc., to the attitudes, personalities, wants, needs and desires of the selected few hailed within a society. That which is used indirectly as a measuring stick to imprison the free will would prevent one from expansion, growth, and development necessary to cultivate into the unique Beings that we truly are by nature.

We are responsible for what we bring to this world. We are not responsible for that which we are not responsible for in this world. We must completely transform, not conform or surrender to the darker side. Woe be unto the elected officials, leaders, educators, controllers in every category imaginable objectified through the finite mediums of existence the methods to confuse and take away individual power by pretending to empower the population with false hopes, dreams, goals, ideas, etc., 'The American Dream of Financial Success and Security', 'The World Wide Web for Global Communications', 'The American Empirical Rule; The most Advanced and Powerful Nation on the Face of the Earth', etc., while social, political, religious and environmental economics still remain imbalanced in every system devised by mankind. All of this is revealed in the ArtWorks over the centuries. We no longer have to rape the mother and pillage the home of her children through abominations of gigantic proportions. The numerous deceptions created to entice us into distractions, denials, and desperation to assume to be something, somebody, when feeling overwhelmed and crazed to fit into the modus apperendi of a society or become a part of the societal groupings for various causes, entrap and enslave the free spirit via insanity. These things should not have been in the first place. The Artists ask, "Who keeps setting us up and why do we keep submitting to their dominance over the reality?" This is reversible. We are the living proof! We can chose to be no longer drafted, manipulated, coerced into a system based upon separations on any level, be it family, friends, cohorts, etc. It's the predominate superficial system's operators that fear the unknown while clinging to the known illusions of reality. So, how do we feel? We feel exposed!

There are no contradictions when clearing out the mind, body and soul of clutter, mess and confusion; allowing nothing and nobody to control ones conscious freedom. We have been encouraged to indulge in changes that will not release us from mental, physical and material bondage but to embrace changes that will keep us fighting to the death amongst ourselves in support of an external governance regarding right and wrong outcomes for personal benefits at the expense of everybody else in the whole of creation, manifested as "The Matrix". The Artist demonstrates that one does not take more then one truly needs. To do so only creates starvation for others resulting in pain.

"Pain is a symptom of something else, deep within us. We understand the law of conditionality, the law of cause and effect. We cannot help experiencing pain because its root is operating consciously or unconsciously within us, through physical or psychological experience. What is its root? You may say "unpleasant" things in life, such as people, objects, or situations - all external things can be the "cause" of pain. But if we only look at external conditions, without looking at the internal situation, we shall not be able to understand pain. Two people come across the same unpleasant event in life; one understands pain, the other does not. The effect on them will be different. The latter will react painfully; but the person who knows, who can look at himself and his own inner conditions, will see his own reactions and retain peace of mind. It is not only a question of experience, but of understanding, which distinguishes these two people. Therefore we cannot say that unpleasant external conditions are the real cause of pain - rather that they are one of the conditions of pain. It is the inner conditions which are the root cause of pain. What are these inner conditions? We must find out, not intellectually but actually. We must see them face to face; we must not just believe in them because we are told about them."

It appears these embedded forces of duality are arising more intensely upon this earth, persisting mercilessly to deter us from giving and/or receiving unconditional love, compassion and kindness across the boards. However we must transcend to another level of consciousness, to the maximum vibrational levels of life energy that will psychically impact the vibrational pulse of this finite plane of reality unequivocally, by taking charge and creating our own realities anew. Now is always the time to take action! No action is action. Do not participate in that which one does not in earnest trust to be ones calling. Let the Divine Light dynamically and truly shine through in celebration of Life! Life! Life! We are the Sun, Moon and Stars!

We Artist are at work on infinite levels, as we are aware, to alert all to the awakening process which continues without interruption and/or compromise on this cosmic journey within the framework of time and space. We cannot go back or go to sleep! Alert, alert, alert is the thrust up and out! We have always known we must do without the current system's mechanisms to suffocate, mass murder and/or annihilate all creatures upon this planet. What good is it to gain the whole world and lose the soul? We must obverse this trend of thinking, being, doing and having selfishly and reach out and touch every body's hand to make this world harmonious because we can.

Once and for all, these suicidal systematic acts of Human genocide are an impossibility to be carried out and every attempt to do so, must cease and desist by the Grace of 'The Almighty Goodness' within nature. First within ourselves then the earth environment at large. We are the power. We are toxic relief! We are one, not two. 'The Evolutionary Expressionism of Life Energy' within all living things is supreme beyond all measure and controls. Action in how we choose to live is present and essential now and for all times. Every man does what he chooses to do according to his Human nature or what he knows of his nature as a creative Being.

Of course, we persist in writing the recurring themes of the supernova effect, 'from whence we came, we shall return' and 'all is according to Divine order.' Now that we have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love and to share, there is so much more to give and receive. When the channels are open and kept opened through the heart, that undetectable, unidentifiable space within the Being will shine through.

The struggle of the Artist is immense! The charge is great! Success in multi forms often results in just the doing of the Art for Art sake, without reward seemingly except the punishment and sacrifice for being an Artist. Therefore, as stated in Cecil B. DeMille's film presentation of the Ten Commandments, "Go! Go and Proclaim Liberty Throughout All The Land, To All The Inhabitants Thereof", and through this commitment the Artist's deeds and actions create a worth and value for the whole of Humanity.
